This page contains sketches, demos, and some still-developing ideas. Quotes around a title mean that it is not really the title, but rather how I label a song in my head or in file names.
Do not save, distribute, or use any of the crappy tracks on this page without permission. I doubt that anyone will, but I want it to state it anyway.

January 2023
December 2022
May 2023
Vacant Throne - May 3 Tried a solemn old JRPG feel. Wasn't happy with it so I kept working on it until it sounded at least satisfactory. Meh (electronic, jummbox, soundtrack) |
Thinking about how WIPs that I think will be better than anything here remain unpublished or incomplete saddens me a bit. I feel that if anything would express best who I am as a musician, it would be them, but I tend to keep those to myself until they're perfected. I should work on them. |
April 2023
Death by Baroque - April 6 Tried a bunch of Jummbox features. I think it sucks, but it grew on me. (electronic, jummbox) |
Iron Hart v2 - Apr 14 Messed around with Jummbox again. It's written for the Omnichord. (electronic, jummbox) |
Robot Weep or Lost Signal - April 16 was okay at some point but probably dragged for too long so it turned bad. i should remake it to focus on a synth solo instead since that's when i thought it was good, until, well, it continued. haha. (electronic, jummbox) |
Run with the Wind - April 17 Still a work-in-progress. Very simple thing I made on whim after some piano practice. Gets boring over time, but the start was promising. Like the song before it, I should remake it. (piano, classical) |
"Syncopation" - April 22 Untitled. Tried out a syncopated rhythm. (electronic, jummbox) |
Tiivad valguses - April 25 version 2 Thematically speaking, this is a "sequel" to I Thought I Buried You. I put my heart into it for a similar reason. The presence of the guitar connects them further. (electronic, jummbox, experimental (?)) |
Sacred - April 28 Version 2, where I added EQ and more volume control to bring out details that were drowned in the original mix, and I also added a vocal chop repeat somewhere in there. You'll know which one if you've heard version 1. And my (currently empty) Souncloud is this, where I'll upload completed stuff if I feel like it, in contrast to this page. This is a better option than Bandcamp at the moment. (dnb, "breakcore", electronic) |
Warbler - April 30th Just for fun. I tried not to take it too seriously. (electronic, jummbox) |
March 2023
"Jazz" - Mar 3 Originally I wanted to write a fast piano piece about apprehension and things going downhill, but ended up writing this. Ignore the beat thing (jazz) |
Biking Game Jazz - Mar 7 (created), Mar 11 (this version) Cover of Mail Mission from Greg RPG. Incomplete but I liked it so I'm sharing it here. (piano, jazz) |
"Untitled" - Mar 24? (exported Mar 25) All sounds except for the fretless bass where made from samples of one song. Abandoned project for now. The above is a remake of this, which is very, very incomplete: (electronic, experimental, breakbeat (the second one)) |
"Reflection in a Blue Crystal" or any name evocative of crystal blue - Mar 28 (experimental, soundtrack) |
Now onto guitar stuff I made this month "Moth" (temporary title) I've recorded it but I'd rather re-record before posting. I used a different guitar, which produced a clearer sound in recordings. (acoustic) |
The rest of what I composed was actually for a game, Greg RPG, which I had the honor of being involved with, but they could use some cleaner recordings. They aren't in the game yet so I don't mind sharing them as standalone works. At first, I recorded two files, one was a guitar rendition of something game creator Murumart quickly made, and the other recording was my own original brainstorm (including a few short ideas). They ended up being edited into 7 menu themes. They're up somewhere, so I won't share the pre-effects ones. Greg OST, including the menu tracks I personally find the not-Radio tracks a lot better but shh! |
"Menu 2 - Reprise" - Mar 19 Re-recording of menu_2, from my brainstorm. (folk (?), acoustic, soundtrack) |
Rather messy demo of Clock Tower - Mar 19 I say messy because the practice was very good, but what I ended up recording was not as great, but it was received well by friends. It was intended to be a continuation to menu 2, hence making it some epic-ish reprise, but it became its own song instead. Round and round and round... (acoustic, soundtrack) |
a smoke in the tropical paradise that is a fisherman's hut or hut waltz - Mar 19 Hypothetical tune for a location by the lake. (acoustic, soundtrack) |
hey, garbage life ain't so bad! - Mar 19 Theme I made for a particular NPC in Greg. (bossa nova, acoustic, soundtrack) |
Icecream - Mar 29 Not Greg. Here I used two instruments that my friend made in LMMS. (electronic, chiptune) |
Orchid - Mar 29 Boring little thing to try out some instruments, but it sounds kind of nice. (ambient, soundtrack) |
February 2023
Olen Väsinud - February 4th The file is called "this came to me in a vision at 8 am" because that's what this is. My magnum opus. (ambient, soundtrack, shitpost) |
Dwarf Fortress Menu Theme (cover) - Jan 15th I should re-record this, since I've improved since. (acoustic) |
Fortress Mode Theme (metal cover) - Feb 7 Another one for Mart because I wanted to make an additional thing for him. This is the same thing just looped twice to match the video on YouTube of the original theme. I wanted to polish it a day later (louder cymbals, replace guitars with better ones) but for some reason, when I opened LMMS, my drum notes got quantized to 1/16 on their own and I didn't feel like fixing them, so no polishing. I also wanted to "fill" the sound more with another guitar and more bass since it feels empty. (metal) |
"game sound test" and "thing" - Feb 12 What it says on the tin. Two experiments in one audio file. It's not much, but it helped me find my way around how to manipulate waves. I'm proud of the sounds I got, because the default wave was ear-grating. (chiptune, electronic) |
"13/8 untitled" - Feb 16 Piano. Unfinished. The reason why the ending is awkwardly sudden is because after the main section, it originally repeated then became that ending, but I deleted the middle portion then wrote something else, and I didn't feel like figuring out how to connect that with the ending so I forcibly stuck them together and abandoned the project. (piano, idk) |
"Soft Dough on a Morning" aka Bread - Feb 20 Grabbed my guitar. Played that. Played it again to record it. Loaded it into LMMS and figured out the BPM, then added the rest of it. After that I recorded that last section but it has bad clipping. This is a demo to lay the idea down (inspired by Clay Parton). I will remake this at some point into a finished song. (slacker rock, acoustic) |
Porcelain Pigeon Domes - Feb 22-23 "The Stripes on the Domes on St. Basil's Cathedral" is what I was thinking of, but I renamed it to the title you see. Imagine a sunset. It's a synth solo. That's it. (electronic) |
"MIN MAJ7" - Jan 23 Little scrapped thing. It's nothing. Just felt like sharing. That's why I didn't want to edit the January table. It's too insiginificant for that. Earthbound soundfont. (electronic, attempted jazz) |
January 2023
Original acoustic versions (written Dec 30) Insidious - recorded Jan 2 (I'm still pissed at them even after re-recording, so forget it) I Thought I Buried You Long Ago - recorded Dec 30
Digitally produced version (made Dec 31-Jan 2) Best with headphones Click for the story behind this piece (before or after listening - that's up to you)
There isn't much to say about the original, musically. Insidious just happened while I was messing around, and I had a strong mental image, so I chose the ironic name "insidious", which is the opposite of what the music evoked to me. I didn't think about it at all, it's just that while naming the file, that word was floating in my head.
I decided to add the original recordings of Insidious, which then became the song above. These are from early January, although the song itself was written in late December. (electronica, fuck idk, rock) |
Song of Storms - January 29 This is a "moss rock" remix of Song of Storms, based on this image. I went for prog. Scrapped 7/4 section (while the DAW was set to 7/4, the actual work wasn't in 7/4) (progressive rock) |
December 2022
Home Memory, also known as "synth experiment" from November 26th. As the title indicates, this was an experiment of the pitch bender wheel on my keyboard. Being a messy, aimless jam session, it's a bit of an intimate recording, yet here it is on the internet. (electronic, ambient) |
Eyes; recorded on December 3rd, written before that. I recorded a cover of Daydream Believer on that day, too. This "riff" has developed and improved since this recording, so this is an earlier Version. There is no mention of eyes in the lyrics, but "seeing" was a thing in them so I went with that codename. I despise the high E string in this recording, but later iterations of the "piece" dealt with it. I recorded to lay the idea down. That's all. (folk, acoustic) |
"Wahwah Version 2". No title for this one. I was testing out various methods of recording my guitar, and the random chords I was playing made a good sample after being passed through filters, so I gave it a quick go on LMMS, and this is the result. It was originally made on Dec 11th, but slightly improved on December 14th, hence the "2". I saw it as a good step in terms of learning, but I didn't like it that much after several listens as it is fairly basic, but I got positive feedback on it. and here's the chopped guitar track, before a further chop and high-pass. (rock, psychedelic) |
Chi no Wadachi from December 15th. It is a proposed OST for a hypothetical adaptation of the manga of the same name. I was proud of this. (electronic, ambient) |
VST test or Synth Experiment Two, from December 15th. This is the full track that Chi no Wadachi is from, an uncut version. I was messing with a VST that I like a lot, and this is the raw export of the tracks I did. Pretty standard chord work, but surprisingly nice (the final section is rather weak, though, which is why I cut a portion of it when this became Chi no Wadachi). Mart pointed out why there were weird jumps -- I did not adjust the grid intervals, so the recorded notes were snapped to the default 1/16 grid, which is why sections 2 and 3 are so weirdly jumpy. I kept that in mind for later recordings. (electronic, ambient, most of it) |
"Untitled" - written December 13th. I got inspired suddenly, then improvised something right away. I liked it, so I played it again and recorded it. Original December 13th recording: Around the 58s~1 minute mark, it lost aim, so I cut that portion out and made it skip to the ending part. The original recording was 1:41 long. December 18th polished re-recording: (rock, acoustic) |
"The riff" - December 13th(?) recorded December 18th. I play it flawlessly but as soon as I hit record it gets all clumsy. It took ages to record it at this speed. I remember being proud of coming up with this, but like most of my work, I get so sick of hearing it. I re-recorded it today (Dec 19) with sections I wrote on December 18th-19th: (music will be added) (rock, acoustic) |
Eyes (new version) - recorded December 21st Over the past month, some similar snippets accumulated, and it made sense to combine them with "Eyes". (folk, acoustic) |
"Mathy" - written early September, recorded December 21st T'was one of my first decent compositions, and the first I've written on paper, and I'm glad I did. "One of" the first compositions because the first was one of those desert sun-themed background music pieces (even though I hate the desert sun) and a minimal impressionist piece called "Gnossienist". I might remake Gnossienist. As you may have guessed, it got that title because its style was reminiscent of Satie's. Dec 21 note: the three newest recordings were supposed to be recorded on the 19th. On the 20th, which was today (it's currently around 3 am, Dec 21st), I was busy. The title is misleading, because this isn't the mathy aspect, but just the chords. Here I give the chords on the note two passes, while only really going by the first chord's designated picking pattern, because I am too tired to try the funky fast ones I had in mind, because recording them would be a pain. This recording is definitely more folk. (rock (supposed to be), acoustic, folk) |
"Midwest" - written December 4th. Recording from December 19th: It's not even Midwest Emo. It's Midwest Emo minus any cool noodly riffs. It's more like Midwest backing or something. I did not use a pick in order not to bother anyone, so that means shitty recording because my phone does not handle low notes nicely when they're not loud and clear, like the crisp sound I get with a thin pick. Sorry for the poor sound. I forgot to record some snippets related to this, but they're not fully fleshed out yet either way. (rock, acoustic) |
"Dissonance" - December 23rd I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "What the fuck did I just listen to?" It was never meant to be musical, this thing. Is there any actual rule that states that music cannot get weird and nonsensical? I could bang the same dissonant chord over an over to create an unsettling tension in a song, or I could (not in the recording) ding one or two bass notes just to set a rhythm and say "hey, the next part's in 5/8, get your ears ready", only to tear it immediately by the lead you were lead to, or something. (rock, acoustic) |
"Untitled rock song" The project file was created on Dec 23 but last edited on December 28th. Early sketch, if you may; a bunch of riffs, if you insist. There are three sections. The first two were pretty random and I was just having fun with the sound of the instrument. The first of those is a rhythm, and the second is a lead where I was figuring out what notes make the sweetest distortion. Those two were composed psuedo-randomly. The third section is the only actual attempt at a song, because it did not consist of a circus of distortion but instead a conscious picking of notes. I called the audio file "stupid guitars" because that's really all there is to it. It's kind of embarrassing. On top of that, the "good" part starts off like a City of Caterpillar song, so I had to take it in a different direction. In the words of a candid reader, "it's so fucking funny." (rock) |
A collection of stuff I made using Spitfire LABS The first tryout - from months ago This one has guitars, but their audio file is on my old computer, so it's drums-only until I find the guitar tracks: "Ten Four" - same week or day as the above. Yes, it's in 10/4 time. I think it's pretty good. I didn't get to finish it. Untitled December 23 "prog" drums programming: (progressive rock) |
"Unnamed" - December 28; It's a bit melancholic but in a sweet way to me. I messed up the last bit but I did get it the second time. And a summary of a solo. I thought up something much longer (and more interesting) but this short bit is fine until then: I plan on digitalising this and adding a bass guitar and/or drums to complete it, but here are the early versions anyway. (rock, acoustic) |
Old! Unfinished piano transcription of Wagner Tiso's Armina. I transcribed it in the summer. There were no sheets of it so I decided to make my own, so it was done by ear. (jazz, piano) |
